Kerabu Umbut Palas
This is an original Malay dish of Kampung Gial, Perlis resident as part of their lunch
and dinner menu dishes. According to Tok Mah, the history of Kerabu Umbut Palas originated when in the old days' people in exploring and opening up new
land to build their settlements, they found pokok palas around them and take the
umbut to make dishes for their lunch. The uniqueness of these dishes is that only
people of this village are aware that umbut palas from pokok palas can be made as a delicious kerabu. Ingredients used for these dishes are; umbut palas, boiled fish meat, onions, chili, tamarind juice, belacan, and salt as seasoning.
