Rebung as in Malay is a name for the young bamboo shoot. They are sometimes been pickle or just straight away being consume to make dish by cut and cook the shoot. Rebung Masak Lemak is one of the well known recipe here in Perlis.   To make this dish, a young bamboo shoot after being cut will be cooked with coconut milk 

and turmeric along with others ingredients. This dish is very aromatic,

 savoury and a bit spicy and good to be enjoy with rice during lunch and dinner.
